English 235 Blood, Fears, and Desire: The VAMPIRE in Literature and Film
In this course, students will study the folklore and cultural forms of the vampire in film and literature by reading several stories and viewing some of the classic and contemporary vampire films. We will examine the relationship of the vampire and victim in these tales, and explore the desires and fears that they mask. Students will maintain a traditional “vampire journal,” participate in online forum discussions, learn the rudiments of web-based research, and write two essays.
